Just Acquired Snapchat-Like App Trumpit”):

“It may sound strange for Wayfair to acquire a social media app that essentially lets you do Snapchat-style photo- and video-sharing through group messaging — which is how the startup sought to differentiate itself.

But what Wayfair was really after was Trumpit’s team, which Wayfair CMO Ed Macri said has “tremendous knowledge and experience that will help us accelerate our mobile and messaging roadmaps,” along with the startup’s video- and photo-based messaging technology.

Gianoukos said Trumpit’s tech will eventually be incorporated into Wayfair’s app to improve communication between customers and customer service consultants, but he was unable to say when that would happen.”

Techcruch weiß zudem noch (“Wayfair snatches up Trumpit to bring photo & video messaging to its mobile app”):

“(Wayfair) more recently hired Matt Zisow, the founder and CEO of personal shopping app HelloShopper, following the app’s shutdown this June.”
