Zur Einordnung der DHL-Zahlen („15.000 Packstationen: Wie DHL den Entwicklungen weiter hinterherhinkt“) noch ein schneller Blick auf InPost, das das Thema Abholautomaten in Europa momentan am stärksten vorantreibt und allein im vergangenen Jahr 11.500 neue Paketstationen aufgestellt hat und inzwischen europaweit 47.000 Abholautomaten betreibt (PDF), über 25.000 davon allein in Polen (PDF-Quelle):
„In 2024, we deployed a record number of APMs, adding over 11,500 machines, and ending the year with 46,977 APM locations (+33% YoY).
We have maintained our #1 position in terms of the locker network in Poland, France and the UK.
In Spain, Portugal, and Italy, we doubled the number of APMs, significantly increasing our visibility and market presence.
In Poland, InPost’s APM network expanded by 15% YoY to over 25,000 machines. The density of InPost APMs within a 7-minute walking distance reached 64% overall and almost 90% in cities.
At Mondial Relay, we […] grew our network of lockers by adding nearly 4,000 APMs; In the UK, […] we expanded our network of lockers by almost 3,000 machines to over 9,200.“
Der rasante Aufstieg der InPost Group
„Together 24/7 – Transforming e-Commerce Last Mile“, lautet das Motto der InPost Group, die sich 2024 erstmals über eine Milliarde ausgelieferte Pakete freute. Das waren doppelt so viele wie beim Börsengang 2021:
International ist InPost vor allem durch Übernahmen gewachsen. Und eine der großen Fragen ist nun, ob InPost irgendwann auch den DACH-Raum ins Visier nimmt.
Wir erinnern uns: Mondial Relay in Frankreich hatte InPost 2021 von Hermes übernommen, das damals (auch dort) über keinerlei Paketautomaten verfügte.
